Information
School of Lunch (SŌL) is on a mission to revitalize humanity by empowering a global culinary movement to joyfully disrupt the trend of chronic illness in our youth. For nearly a decade, we have been serving the most nutrient-dense meals possible to students and families. "OurPlate" features organic, locally sourced, regenerative foods that are integral to a growth and a healthy lifestyle.
School of Lunch Founder Hilary Boynton is an author and fearless mother of five who refused to accept the quality of food her children were being served during school lunch. She began a relentless mission to change the status quo, and eventually took over the lunch program at her local school. Hilary proved the naysayers wrong and created an affordable, nutrient dense, farm-to-table meal program that transformed the lives of students. The ancestral-based program has served as a beacon of hope for countless other moms and schools for nearly nine years. Students, parents and administrators alike have marveled at the success the program has garnished.
Word got out, leaving parents and other schools to ask how they could learn how to implement the same principles in their own lives. Out of this necessity the School of Lunch Training Academy (SŌLTA) was born in 2019. Each year young adults, parents, school chefs, school administrators, and community leaders attend the academy. There they learn and share foundational skills to not only change their own lives, but those of their families, schools and communities. Academy graduates have gone on to change the quality of millions of meals across the nation annually.
Now, Hilary and her partners Charles Barth and Joel Rodgers are working with the SŌL team to scale operations in order to change as many school lunch programs nationally as possible. People are demanding change...and the time is now to deliver! Pilot programs to retrofit both private and public schools across the country are in the works for 2025.
We are looking forward to seeing you all at the conference and serving you some tastes of our food, snacks, and drinks. Hopefully we can dig in more and discuss how you can help us to collect critical data we need as part of our pilot programs so that we can truly make this a healthy nation!
